Music, Song Dance and Steam!

Announcing the Second Folkstation Festival - 10th to 12th July 2009

FolkStation is a special folk festival; certainly not the biggest but it is a unique experience. Located at the award winning Havenstreet steam railway, the festival has built up from a “fringe” group of folk musicians who gathered together to play at railway events over 34-year history of the railway.

Amongst other facilities, the festival will have a real-ale bar featuring ales from Island breweries as well as others.

Limited Edition will be running a 'Meet the Band Session' where you can chat to them about their music and pick up some playing tips. There will also be an open session led by Tom Leary where you can exchange tunes and songs.

A Childrens' Workshop will be run on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Mainly aimed at young children, the workshop will involve making some folk instruments and using them for playing and dancing.

We are very pleased to announce that the Sunday evening charity concert will be run by the Isle of Wight Scottish Fiddlers and promises a very varied programme. Entry to the concert is free and collections will be made for the Chernobyl Children's Lifeline charity.
