Steve Jackson

Steve has been playing Music since the age of five when he was given a nylon string Acoustic Guitar by his Nan. The Guitar changed over the years but it is still his main Instrument today. A couple of years later he was given the opportunity to take up another instrument and after failing a Violin Audition miserably and missing two front teeth so he couldn't play the Clarinet or Saxophone he finally settled on the Flute. Over the years other instruments were taken up including various percussion, Whistles and more recently the Melodeon.

During his younger life Steve played in a number of bands and groups in Northamptonshire where he attended Music Schools, County Jazz Groups and later Towcester Rock Schools, where he played and coached young musicians. Throughout this time he was being encouraged to play Folk and Traditional Music by his parents.

After studying Music Technology with Management at Staffordshire University Steve has been more active in the local Folk Scene in Derbyshire and plays with the What's the Point Ceilidh Band and plays various local Folk Clubs and enjoys attending the fringe at any festival as well as watching his favourite artists.
